Riding lessons in the province of Varese

Is learning to ride your horse your lifelong dream? Or would you like to improve your riding technique? A.S.D. Club Ippico Euratom offers riding lessons in the province of Varese for adults and children of all levels: from beginner, focusing on getting to know the horse, through intermediate to advanced. Lessons at the Angera centre are available in Italian, German, English, French, Dutch and Spanish.

Level 1

Beginners

Our basic-level riding lessons in the province of Varese are designed both for those approaching horses for the first time and for those who, due to personal commitments, have had to put aside a much-loved passion.

  • STEP 1: APPROACHING THE HORSE

    By attending the foundation courses, participants can begin to establish the horse-and-rider bond.

    • Objectives: develop confidence in the horse so that the rider approaches it naturally and spontaneously.
    • Methods: grooming and caring for the horse, leading the horse from the ground (in hand).

  • STEP 2: EMPATHY

    As they become familiar with the horse, riders learn how to approach the animal according to established behavioural principles, with qualified staff assisting them from entering the stable to mounting up. A sound knowledge of safety rules is also essential for approaching the animal correctly and becoming independent in preparing and handling the horse. As their confidence grows, riders can also convey a sense of security to their partner, strengthening a bond based on empathy and respect.

    • Objectives: approach riding work naturally and with motivation, while following safety rules.
    • Methods: the horse is handled and worked on the lunge by the instructor on the ground until the rider has correctly learned the first two gaits (walk and trot).

  • STEP 3: TRUST

    Finally, the rider gains confidence and awareness and is ready to manage the horse independently.

    • Objectives: improve the rider’s technical and relational skills, progressively leading to independence in managing the horse both mounted and on the ground.
    • Methods: the horse is no longer handled on the ground by the instructor. Whether riding individually or as part of a group, the rider consolidates their balance in the saddle and learns to perform school figures at walk, trot and canter.

Level 2

Intermediate

The intermediate-level courses are intended for anyone who has completed the basic level with a FISE A recreational licence and wishes both to deepen their relationship with the horse and refine their riding technique. At this stage, the Instructor works with Junior and Senior students to prepare them, if appropriate, to move on to a FISE B Brevet licence.

  • Objectives: to develop the rider’s technical skills and improve their position. Managing the three gaits and riding the horse with precision.
  • Methods: whether riding individually or as part of a group, the rider refines the execution of the three gaits while also tackling their first courses

Level 3

Advanced

Our advanced-level horse-riding courses in the province of Varese are ultimately intended for students holding an FISE I or II level licence who wish to improve their technical skills.

  • Objectives: acquire the knowledge needed to become fully independent in handling the horse, with the aim of taking part in National and International competitions for emerging riders.
  • Methods: the rider refines the sequence of aids so that their horse is responsive and ready to deal with the challenges a show-jumping course may present.
