Riding means taking part in an activity that engages the body, requires concentration and allows you to spend time outdoors. A.S.D. Club Ippico Euratom is an equestrian club in Angera, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, where adults and children can discover the world of horses or continue their sporting journey with the support of qualified instructors. The centre offers activities related to the main Olympic equestrian disciplines, in a natural setting designed to support gradual, informed learning suited to each student’s level. The experience also helps develop balance, coordination and confidence, teaching participants to build a relationship with the horse based on listening, respect and cooperation.

The association was founded on the experience and passion of its founders, Rita and Mario Verheyden. The centre focuses on equestrian training and practice, offering programmes both for first-time riders and for more experienced riders. Choosing an equestrian centre recognised by the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation means relying on qualified technical staff and taking part in activities based on a structured training approach. The centre is affiliated with the Olympic disciplines and supports students in developing the skills needed to understand the horse, improve their position and deepen their technical knowledge of the discipline they practise. Its location in Angera, near Lake Maggiore, also offers the opportunity to enjoy equestrian activities in a natural setting, away from the faster pace of everyday life.
The founders
A.S.D. Club Ippico Euratom
The association’s history is linked to Rita and Mario Verheyden, united by their passion for horses and by professional careers developed in the world of equestrian sport. Mario Georges Verheyden is an internationally experienced rider, Level 3 instructor and federal trainer. During his career, he achieved results in national and international competitions and represented the Italian team in numerous Nations Cups. One of the achievements recalled in the centre’s sporting history is his victory in the Small Grand Prix at Piazza di Siena in Rome in 1996. He shares his experience with young people, adults, beginners and more experienced riders through the riding programmes organised by the centre. Rita Leo Verheyden is a Federal Coach, journalist and editor-in-chief of the online magazine Horse Show Jumping, as well as having worked as a sports commentator for Eurosport. Her professional career combines technical knowledge, communication and extensive experience in sport.
For adults and children
Riding lessons
Our riding lessons are open to adults and children and are organised according to the participants’ experience and technical level. The aim is to guide each student through a progressive pathway, from becoming familiar with the horse to developing their skills in equestrian disciplines. For beginners, the programme provides the foundations needed to move with greater confidence and awareness, gradually understanding the relationship between horse and rider. Those with previous experience can focus on refining their technique, precision and ability to manage different working situations. Riding involves balance, coordination, posture and concentration. Work in the arena also requires consistency and careful attention to the instructor’s guidance, supporting technical development over time.
