A.S.D. Club Ippico Euratom offers its members the opportunity to take part in various equestrian competitions, including eventing competitions in Angera. This is an Olympic discipline consisting of several phases, designed to test the different abilities of the horse-and-rider partnership.
Eventing competitions make it possible to assess the level of training achieved by the horse-and-rider partnership and its physical and technical abilities. Each phase has different characteristics and contributes to the overall result, making complete and progressive preparation essential.
For students at Club Ippico Euratom, taking part in these competitions is also an opportunity to put into practice what they have learned during training and experience the various situations involved in this equestrian discipline.

What eventing involves
Eventing competitions consist of three different phases: dressage, show jumping and cross-country. Depending on the type of competition, the different phases may take place over one or more days. Each phase requires specific skills and assesses different aspects of the horse-and-rider partnership’s preparation. In dressage, precision and control are particularly important; in show jumping, technique and course management come into play; while cross-country requires riders to tackle an outdoor course featuring obstacles and conditions different from those found in a traditional arena.

Preparing for an eventing competition means developing a range of skills rather than focusing exclusively on a single discipline. Horse and rider must be able to tackle the specific demands of all three phases and adapt to different technical requirements. Training gradually consolidates the flatwork required for dressage, the technique needed for show jumping and the preparation necessary for cross-country.
